Holiday Inn Austin Midtown, an IHG Hotel

My company Amazing Art Expo did a Disney, Star Wars, Anime art event at the Holiday Inn Midtown the weekend of Feb 1-3rd and my staff and I stayed at the hotel for 4 nights. I want to first state, the rooms were incredibly clean, comfortable and the beds were very comfortable to a point where I slept better here than I do in my regular bed at home. The parking was plentiful and free and my staff and I felt safe with the surroundings that each night we walked to a restaurant without any worries. In first contacting the hotel about a month prior to the event, I spoke to Angie Mitschke who took the time to go over potential dates and respecting my budgetary needs, Angie worked extensively with me to accommodate our budget and reserve the ballrooms for us. I then proceeded to communicate with Mayra Lopez. Mayra was very adamant about making certain our room setup fit our expectations and her communication with me was outstanding. Despite our move-in date scheduled for Friday morning, Feb 1st, I requested at the last minute if we could unload the merchandise in our truck on Thursday afternoon in order to save time. Mayra and Angie both made this possible which gave us much more time to set up on Friday. This was a very nice add on and was greatly appreciated. The ballroom setup person (unfortunately I forgot his name) often checked in with us to see if we needed any service. Needless to say, the staff went above and beyond expectations. I highly recommend this hotel and I plan to do future business with them.

Upon arriving at Holiday Inn Austin Midtown, I was greeted by a friendly staff at the reception. The check-in process was smooth and efficient, and I was informed that my room had been upgraded, which instantly set a positive tone for my stay. Entering the room, I was delighted by the spacious environment. The bed was exceptionally comfortable, and the extra space allowed for a more relaxed and enjoyable stay. I spent the next day exploring Austin, and the hotel's location made it easy to access popular attractions and landmarks in the city. I would recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a comfortable and welcoming accommodation option in Austin.

The facility is showing its age. The room was comfortable, but... There is a balcony, how quaint. There may have been more scenic vistas when this was built, but the balcony serves no purpose now, except to stick your head out to check on your truck. It was especially blustery when I was there. The wind whipping around the corner had the glass sliding door howling like a haunted house. Next big remodel, I suggest pushing the room out to make it larger, utilizing the balcony for more practical space. And in this day of complimentary breakfast with the obligatory Texas shaped waffles, what's up with the fifteen buck Green Eggs & Ham. It was all very good, but it ain't the Sunday brunch at the Galvez.

My wife and I were in town for a concert. The facilities were kept in excellent condition. We were greeted as soon as we walked in and check in was a breeze. Our room had all the accommodations we were expecting. We loved how the hotel was quiet and tucked away from heavy traffic but how accessible everything still was. Great location!

I personally would never ever stay at this hotel again in my life. I had the worst experience with their rooms from stains in their beds, running toilet water all night even the shower, not working correctly, night stand plug outlets not working, refrigerator not working/cold & etc. I even had other guest items leftover in the room from previous. I had to switch my room five times due to the things I stated above and instead of having great customer service, they had the worst customer service I ever had to deal with, they started to take out their anger and frustration on me because of The inconvenience they caused me. I was even called racist name. When I asked to speak to the Manager I thought I would have a better transition, but it was even worse. The Manager yelled at me, got in my face and was arguing with me even one of their associates start to cuss me out in front of the manager, and the manager said nothing. This hotel has many issues wrong with the rooms, as well as an unprofessional staff.

I highly recommend the customer service is excellent!! Mrs Griselda and Mrs Kim welcome us with open arms!!! The rooms are excellent!! Everything is so very clean being the hotel old but I can tell there staff takes care of it!!! Enjoy the man in the bar he has excellent customer services , he is always with smile and makes you feel like “” don’t worry just sit and relax” Enjoy the breakfast the front sweet girl has excellent customer service!!! it’s worth it !!! Everything is made fresh!!! Stay here and enjoy your stay cus we did!!! Thank you family Gonzalez : Lolly Ashley , Jamie Jayden
